CERFIS-TREEC follows with the activities of structural health monitoring on the Basilica S.Maria di Collemaggio 

The 30th November, the reaserachers of CERFIS-TREEC carry out a series of tests, with artificial impulsive force, on the structures of Basilica di S.Maria di Collemaggio, on which is actually active a wireless monitoring system. These tests are part of the agreement between the Commissario delegato per la ricostruzione and CERFIS-TREEC, for the realization of SHM of the Basilica. The vice Commissario per la tutela dei beni culturali, Luciano Marchetti, is espected. More information are available on the dedicated section.

 


 

The researchers of CERFIS take part in the visit of ROTARY International President

The researchers of CERFIS-TREEC take part in the visit of ROTARY International, Kalyan Banerjee, at the Edifice A of the Engineering Faculty, gone with the governor of District 2090, Francesco Ottaviano, in order to examine the rehabilitation works of the structures of the Engineering Faculty. Afterwards Kalyan Banerjee has recived the laurea honoris causa in management engineering. Photos


 



 

A sismic event with Magnitude (MI) 3.0 struck the seismic district of Gran Sasso

On Wednesday, the 7th of September 2011, at 21.10.19 UTC, a seismic shock was registered in the seismic district of Gran Sasso. The seismic shock, with magnitude (MI) of 3.0, which the epicenter depth at 10.8km, was perceived in the village of Pizzoli and in the surrounding villages.




The CERFIS researchers are involved in the summer school Erasmus SeisMath2011

The department of pure and applied mathematics organizes from the 4th to the 15th, july 2011, the summer school on Mathematical Models in Seismology with the intervention of many italian and international researchers. Further informations on the internet site.



 


A seismic event with Magnitude (Ml) 3.2 struck the seismic district of L'Aquila

On saturday, the 21st of May, 2011, at 9:17 p.m local time (7:17p.m. UTC), an earthquake was registered in the seismic district of L'Aquila. The seismic shock, which the epicenter depth at 8.9km, was perceived in L'Aquila and in the surrounding villages. A more exhaustive examination of seismic shock will be available soon.




CERFIS-TREEC meets Prof. Dina D'Ayala

March 1 and 2, CERFIS-TREEC, by one of its grant holders,  cooperates with the Prof. Dina D'Ayala of the University of Bath in order to collect data on the L'Aquila earthquake for FaMIVE software.



CERFIS-TREEC meets Students and Professors of SAMHC

February 25, starting from 9.00am to 2pm, at Monticchio DISAT headquarter, a course of lectures, on the seismic engineering applied to masonry buildings will be take place. The students of Advanced Masters in Monumental and Historical Constructions are directed by Prof. Modena of the University of Padova. 



 

Meeting with Prof. Bourquin

The 14 and 15 of february Prof. Frédéric Bourquin, head of Département Mesure Auscultation et Calcul Scientifique (MACS) of Institut français des sciences et technologies des transports, de l'aménagement et des réseaux (IFSTTAR), visited the Center of Research CERFIS-TREEC. Professor Borquoin has presented the activities in which his department is actually involved, highlighting in particular the research projects. 




Meeting with Prof. Comerio

The 2011 CERFIS-TREEC event program starts with the meeting with Prof. Comerio of the UC University of Berkley, an internationally recognized expert on disaster recovery. The event takes place at the Piccolo Auditorium of Reiss Romoli, the 21 january at 11.00a.m. Incontro con Prof.ssa MC Comerio

Courses directed on the worker in building sector

The 2011 training plan of CERFIS-TREEC gets under way. From 10th november the course called "COrso Materiali EDilizia INnovativa - COMEDIN" is going to carry out at University of L'Aquila and it will see the presence of university professor, agencies and companies working in the building sector. CERFIS-TREEC meets Students and Professors of Master Sisto Mastrodicasa

November 18, starting from 9.00am to 2pm, at Monticchio DISAT headquarter, a course of lectures, on the seismic engineering applied to masonry buildings will be take place. The event will be followed by a visite of Palazzo Camponeschi in the historic centre of L'Aquila. Presentations



 

The Irpinia Earthquake: 30 years later
From 22th to 26th of November, an itinerant conference is going to take place to trace the evolution of earthquake engineering and seismic design fields, starting from the devastating earthquake which struck the Irpinia Region. The conference will be hosted from the University of Naples Federico II, the University of Sannio, the Center of analysis and monitoring of environmental risk "Filippo Vinale" (CIMA), the University of Salerno, and the Italian Association of philosophical studies. CERFIS joins the Polo di Innovazione "EDILIZIA SOSTENIBILE"
CERFIS joins the project promoted by ANCE Abruzzo and Confindustria Abruzzo. The Innovation Pole "EDILIZIA SOSTENIBILE" (sustainable construction), involving the entire chain of construction  field working in the region, represents a chance to aim at sustainable and innovation strategies for the reconstruction and requalification of city of L'Aquila.

On 29th October, at Palazzo Ducale in Camerino, the conference "Abruzzo, Umbria, Marche: percorsi di ricostruzione" is going to take place. The conference will be preside by the Deputy Commissioner Delegate for the Preservation of Historical and Architectural Heritage in Abruzzo, Luciano Marchetti. The major personalities being in politics of Abruzzo, Umbria, and Marche regions, representatives of Civil Defence Department, and Historical and Architectural Heritage Ministry and University will participate.                                                            Steel Design in Seismic Zone
The Engineering Association of L'Aquila, The Nation Council of Engineering and the Reluis Consortium, organize a refresher course on Steel Design in Seismic Zone in reference to the new Italian Design Code (NTC08). The course is divided in 10 four-hours-lessons, from the 22th of October to the 27th of November.
